White Angels ^^

“Even though we've changed and we're all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we'll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so much to the point where we're not all still friends.”

No words could describe my feelings hearing that one of my best friend would get married. Happy, jealous, sad... All of those feelings popped up in mind. Besides, I also got an extravagant news from my junior high best friend that she's now pregnant.. Wow....

Tomato Chili Couple

Red Hot Chili Peppers: Californication

Psychic spies from China
Try to steal your mind's elation
Little girls from Sweden
Dream of silver screen quotations
And if you want these kind of dreams
It's Californication

It's the edge of the world
And all of western civilization
The sun may rise in the East
At least it settles in the final location
It's understood that Hollywood
sells Californication

Pay your surgeon very well
To break the spell of aging
Celebrity skin is this your chin
Or is that war your waging

[Chorus:]
First born unicorn
Hard core soft porn
Dream of Californication
Dream of Californication

Marry me girl be my fairy to the world
Be my very own constellation
A teenage bride with a baby inside
Getting high on information
And buy me a star on the boulevard
It's Californication

Space may be the final frontier
But it's made in a Hollywood basement
Cobain can you hear the spheres
Singing songs off station to station
And Alderon's not far away
It's Californication

Born and raised by those who praise
Control of population everybody's been there
and
I don't mean on vacation

[Chorus]

Destruction leads to a very rough road
But it also breeds creation
And earthquakes are to a girl's guitar
They're just another good vibration
And tidal waves couldn't save the world
From Californication

Pay your surgeon very well
To break the spell of aging
Sicker than the rest
There is no test
But this is what you're craving

[Chorus]

This song is one of my boy's favorite song. He always sings this song when we go out for having fun in a karaoke center. Red Hot Chili Peppers, the name of the band. He told me that this song is about a glamorous life in Los Angeles, California, especially the word "fornication" which portrays how great the promiscuity there (Kaonang, Glenn Nathaniel: 2011). We bought these couple t-shirts because he suddenly remembered his fav band by looking at them.

Upppsssss... By looking at my pics above I've just realized that the words on my back t-shirt should have been on his back t-shirt, shouldn't they??? Yes, indeed. I'm his tomato ketchup and he is my chili (It should be spelled with 1L :p ) sauce. If there is a chili sauce, it must have a tomato ketchup... ^^

It's not the End

It's kinda late to say "Good Bye, May..." and it's also too late to post this posting.
Getting so busy with scoring my students tests made me don't have time for blogging. I also have to postpone my personal make up test since I was too lazy to go there. So, tomorrow I will and have to do the last session of my Personal Make up and be ready to do the test. I can do it!!
My last Self Make Up session

Unbranded Bag from Mangga Dua Jakarta, Pink Esprit Shirt, Vest, Executive Pants, Bata Sandals

Starting from this month will be a busy year for me. New academic year, new students and new project will be on my list. I wish I could do all of them well.

Two More to Go

Yayyyy... Finally.... I did a self make up. It's so hard for me to do it since I don't like putting on a complete make up on my face. But this time I MUST. It's for fulfilling my make up course. You can see my progress in my pics. At first I was very bad. But then, I did it. \(^_^)/  So, here they are.... Still one more personal make up and one hair styling and I'm ready to rock the personal make up exam. Pray for me... ^^

Batik: the Traditional Fabric of Indonesia

Our President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) has decided that October 2nd is a Batik Day.... So on that day, as Indonesian people, we have to wear Batik. Many companies, schools, offices, have their employees wearing Batik not only on Batik Day but also once a week. Most of them choose Friday as a Batik Day when all of the workers have to wear Batik. That also happens in my University. Starting on April this year we have a new uniform both for the educational staffs and non-educational staffs, which means I, as one of the lecturers (Yes, I am.. I am a lecturer! Don't you believe it???? =,= ), have to wear this uniform. We were given the same pattern of cloth then we have to sew it by ourselves or we could give it to a tailor to make our uniform. The model is free. We could design it by ourselves. So... This is my uniform that I always wear every Friday. I usually wear it with THE EXECUTIVE pants, unbranded polka ribbon, and VNC shoes.

It would be more fun if we talk more about the history of Batik. Let me tell you what I know about Batik. I read it on the Internet, frankily :p . The word batik is thought to be derived from the word 'ambatik' which translated means 'a cloth with little dots'. The suffix 'tik' means little dot, drop, point or to make dots. Batik may also originate from the Javanese word 'tritik' which describes a resist process for dying where the patterns are reserved on the textiles by tying and sewing areas prior to dying, similar to tie dye techniques. Another Javanese phase for the mystical experience of making batik is “mbatik manah” which means “drawing a batik design on the heart”. Making batik is not an easy thing to do. There are many kinds of batik that we can find in Indonesia. But the most popular batik is batik which uses a wax pen or canting to make it. Of course the price will be higher than Batik which only need to stamp it on the cloth.

Here is the picture of canting:

So, are you proud of being Indonesian people??
Let's wear Batik!

Happy Birthday, Glenn...

Last 21 May 2011 was my boy's birthday... I've prepared everything for him. Since he really wants to buy an ipad, I finally got a chance to buy him an "ipad". Not a real ipad though, but an ipad cake.
He was really surprised.... He likes it... ^^ And the funny thing is almost all of my friends and his thought that was a real ipad. That day was a great day for me and him... Love you....

There is no more lovely, friendly and charming relationship, communion or company than a good marriage. ~Martin Luther~

I dreamed of a wedding of elaborate elegance,
A church filled with family and friends.
I asked him what kind of a wedding he wished for,
He said one that would make me his wife.

I've gotten 2 invitations today. One from my colleague and other from my very best friend in college, Mega. Feeling so happy knowing that finally she could face the D-day... Talking about wedding party is one of my favorite things. I could imagine how my wedding party will look like, my wedding gown,my make up, the shoes, the food and of course the "one" who will be with me in my whole life.
A marriage is not the end of someone's life but it' still the beginning.
Happy wedding, friends..... ^^

(Wanna have this kind of invitation for my wedding :p )

I love you, Dad...

Any man can be a father.  It takes someone special to be a dad.  ~Author Unknown~

Getting tired easily, I could do nothing but sleeping and resting.
Having many jobs to do, I feel like throwing all that away.
Having too much fun to refresh my mind, I got sick.
Getting sick, I forgot my Dad's birthday. Gosh....

How could that happen????
I have no idea. I totally forgot. So yesterday I called him to say sorry and give him my very best prayer. Even though I could not speak it in words, I know that he always knows how I really love him. As I have quoted above, Any man can be a father but It takes someone special to be a dad. Though it's too late, I just wanna say "Happy birthday, Pa......"

Below are my pictures while hanging out.. Sorry for the low quality of the pics.

Monday: A Blue Day

Today is Monday... *sigh... Yesterday was Sunday. (*We knew it) And tomorrow will be Tuesday and a HOLIDAY!!! \(^_^)/ yayyyyy.... Thinking about tomorrow's holiday, I have no courage to go to work today. But here I am... Teaching on the first session at 7 o'clock with our native speaker from England, George.
I have nothing to do after teaching. Too much to do list, frankly speaking. But don't want to do it.
I have just read that Monday has often been called a blue day. It is quoted:

There is considerable speculation as to why this might be so. One theory runs that Monday (before the advent of the washing machine) was the usual day for washing and a blue dye was frequently used to keep clothes from yellowing. Blue is also frequently associated with depression. Since Monday is typically the first workday of the week and workers must look over a long depressing stretch of time until their next day-long break it has often been referred to as a blue day.
Monday
Many cultures see Monday also as an unlucky day, even as a day when people become insane. This may have something to do with the day's association with the moon. The moon has been called inconstant, due to its tendency to wax and wane. The Latin word for moon comes even into our own language to designate lunacy.

For me, Monday is still a Monday. The beginning of our long hibernation. A day that we should start with a smile and a spirit. Even though tomorrow is a holiday, Monday is still a Monday. A working day. No excuses to be absent. No excuses to be lazy. Happy Monday all...... ^^

Finally! The Exam Day

I didn't expect that yesterday would be my exam day for basic make up. I thought I would just practice in an hour than having a theory class. I could practice well and the result was not too bad I thought. I used the last technique which my previous teacher taught me. And I could finish it in an hour. But my new teacher had another opinion which made me shocked. She said that my make up was not in the seven technique. She added that I made my own technique. Helloooo... Was that a good thing??? If I were the teacher (Yes, I am a teacher, but not a Make Up Teacher), I would be so proud of looking my student's creating new technique. So, I could conclude that she is not that type of an ideal teacher. But I have to be with her on the advance make up course. *sigh....

Then she corrected my make up and gave me an example. The shocking thing was I had to do the examination right after I cleaned my sister's face as my model. What???? Ok then, I had to be professional so I would do that. I did the make up exactly the same with what she told me. And surprisingly it only took me 40 minutes to finish. I could not believe it. And she was quite satisfied with my result although I was not satisfied at all.

Here is the result:

My point here is that teachers in this world have to let their students to be as creative as they can. Do not limit their creation.

Last Year Holiday

My memories go back to the time when I had a holiday in Jakarta. It was my first experience going to Jakarta by plane. And I was alone! It was such a great experience.
Jakarta, nothing to visit but malls. Yes, I went to different malls almost everyday. The thing that I can suggest you is that wear a comfort clothes. If you want to go by public transportation don't wear shorts or even tank top.
T-shirt and jeans would be a perfect outfit.

 Sandals: Bellagio, GM, Surabaya
I wore Hello Kitty T-shirt I bought in BG Junction Sby, jeans, and cloth bag from UK
