Two More to Go

Yayyyy... Finally.... I did a self make up. It's so hard for me to do it since I don't like putting on a complete make up on my face. But this time I MUST. It's for fulfilling my make up course. You can see my progress in my pics. At first I was very bad. But then, I did it. \(^_^)/  So, here they are.... Still one more personal make up and one hair styling and I'm ready to rock the personal make up exam. Pray for me... ^^

Batik: the Traditional Fabric of Indonesia

Our President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) has decided that October 2nd is a Batik Day.... So on that day, as Indonesian people, we have to wear Batik. Many companies, schools, offices, have their employees wearing Batik not only on Batik Day but also once a week. Most of them choose Friday as a Batik Day when all of the workers have to wear Batik. That also happens in my University. Starting on April this year we have a new uniform both for the educational staffs and non-educational staffs, which means I, as one of the lecturers (Yes, I am.. I am a lecturer! Don't you believe it???? =,= ), have to wear this uniform. We were given the same pattern of cloth then we have to sew it by ourselves or we could give it to a tailor to make our uniform. The model is free. We could design it by ourselves. So... This is my uniform that I always wear every Friday. I usually wear it with THE EXECUTIVE pants, unbranded polka ribbon, and VNC shoes.

It would be more fun if we talk more about the history of Batik. Let me tell you what I know about Batik. I read it on the Internet, frankily :p . The word batik is thought to be derived from the word 'ambatik' which translated means 'a cloth with little dots'. The suffix 'tik' means little dot, drop, point or to make dots. Batik may also originate from the Javanese word 'tritik' which describes a resist process for dying where the patterns are reserved on the textiles by tying and sewing areas prior to dying, similar to tie dye techniques. Another Javanese phase for the mystical experience of making batik is “mbatik manah” which means “drawing a batik design on the heart”. Making batik is not an easy thing to do. There are many kinds of batik that we can find in Indonesia. But the most popular batik is batik which uses a wax pen or canting to make it. Of course the price will be higher than Batik which only need to stamp it on the cloth.

Here is the picture of canting:

So, are you proud of being Indonesian people??
Let's wear Batik!

Happy Birthday, Glenn...

Last 21 May 2011 was my boy's birthday... I've prepared everything for him. Since he really wants to buy an ipad, I finally got a chance to buy him an "ipad". Not a real ipad though, but an ipad cake.
He was really surprised.... He likes it... ^^ And the funny thing is almost all of my friends and his thought that was a real ipad. That day was a great day for me and him... Love you....

There is no more lovely, friendly and charming relationship, communion or company than a good marriage. ~Martin Luther~

I dreamed of a wedding of elaborate elegance,
A church filled with family and friends.
I asked him what kind of a wedding he wished for,
He said one that would make me his wife.

I've gotten 2 invitations today. One from my colleague and other from my very best friend in college, Mega. Feeling so happy knowing that finally she could face the D-day... Talking about wedding party is one of my favorite things. I could imagine how my wedding party will look like, my wedding gown,my make up, the shoes, the food and of course the "one" who will be with me in my whole life.
A marriage is not the end of someone's life but it' still the beginning.
Happy wedding, friends..... ^^

 Cool Wedding Invitation ^^
(Wanna have this kind of invitation for my wedding :p )

I love you, Dad...

Any man can be a father.  It takes someone special to be a dad.  ~Author Unknown~

Getting tired easily, I could do nothing but sleeping and resting.
Having many jobs to do, I feel like throwing all that away.
Having too much fun to refresh my mind, I got sick.
Getting sick, I forgot my Dad's birthday. Gosh....

How could that happen????
I have no idea. I totally forgot. So yesterday I called him to say sorry and give him my very best prayer. Even though I could not speak it in words, I know that he always knows how I really love him. As I have quoted above, Any man can be a father but It takes someone special to be a dad. Though it's too late, I just wanna say "Happy birthday, Pa......"

Below are my pictures while hanging out.. Sorry for the low quality of the pics.
